John Doyle is an experienced commercial property investment surveyor and strategic asset manager, having sat on the main boards of FTSE and AIM listed property companies and has advised and assisted private companies, institutions, HNW individuals, national retail groups, and public authorities on their property holdings in relation to acquisition, disposal, refurbishment, development, leasing and workout.

 

With over 25 years’ experience and a successful track record, John’s understanding of real estate and asset situations, having worked through multiple down-turns, place him in a specialist position to act on distressed asset situations, poor performing/dormant real estate assets, assisting retail groups on expansion and consolidation exercises, public authorities on disposal and development strategies, and property companies on acquisition, disposal, and strategic asset management comprising single lots to portfolios, via private treaty, off market opportunities, and stake building in listed companies holding property assets with latent value.

 

John’s experience is derived from positions held during a career which commenced on his 17th birthday in September 1989 at West End firm, Elliot Son & Boyton, with Chesterton International plc, and leading small teams as Group Estates Manager at the Theo Paphitis Retail Group and, for 16 years (12 as main board director and significant shareholder) at listed property investment group, Panther Securities plc. Other positions include Freelance Commercial Property Advisor, and Disposal/Development Surveyor for one of the largest public authorities in the South-East, responsible for identification of surplus assets and formulation of strategies to maximise value, prior to acting on disposal or development in conjunction with wholly owned self-delivery vehicles or joint venture development partners, whilst effectively managing the commercial relationships between the various entities, their management, and their financiers.

 

John has also advised family offices, corporate entities and individuals on acquisition of prime London residential property from search and selection, through to negotiating the best possible terms for the purchaser, seeing transactions through to legal completion, whilst organising surveys, tidying ownership titles and negotiating on any restrictive covenants etc. Today, it is essential for any prime purchaser to appoint their own acquisition agent/surveyor, as the vendors agent is not acting in the best interests of the buyer, whom they are trying to extract the highest possible price from. John has extensive knowledge of prime London urban and suburban markets and has negotiated favourable terms for a number of purchasers.
